My boyfriend of 9 months left me a month ago. He told me he needed space at first, and then a week later he said he needed more. The first week of space we did nothing but fight, and the second we didn’t really talk much at all. He came back and told me he thought we should part ways, and that he needs to move on with his life, but said I wasn’t holding him back when I asked if he thought I was. For the next week we didn’t talk, and I acted like I was okay with it as suggested.
A week or so later we started talking again a little here and there, and I asked him to come over and talk, and he did, and he said that he just wasn’t happy with me anymore, and some days he regrets breaking up with me, and some he doesn’t, and he said its happened to him before in his last relationship.
We talk here and there and its mostly strained and uncomfortable, and its often that he doesn’t even respond, but sees the messages. I don’t bombard him with several a day or anything, but I tried what you suggested by bringing up a good memory by asking a question lastnight, and he saw it but didn’t reply. I’m at a loss here.
Should I just stop messaging him at all? Would it look bad since I messaged him last and he didn’t reply/would it make him feel like his idea?
What are some steps I should take, or things I should say to win him back? Because its clear he still has feelings for me, but refuses to give us a chance because he’s afraid he’ll want to leave again.
Thank you!
