Hi everyone. I need some advice. Right after the breakup, I did the usual begging, crying, all that. However, I only contacted him three times and then that was it so it’s not like I texted a million times a day. Just THREE. After I came across this article I stopped immediately, and began no contact the day after the last attempt. I’m currently halfway through, around the 15 day mark, but he hasn’t reached out to me at all.
I’m using this time to work on myself and get my emotional state back together, just as I should. Going out with friends, spending time with family, got a new haircut, going to the gym constantly, etc. I’m doing everything that’s been recommended.
But…
Has he forgotten me? Has he moved on? I’m scared that continuing no contact will make it EASIER for him to move on from us!
Help?
Alicia,
I know 15 days feels like a really long time, especially when you’ve been and talked with the person nonstop as long as you can remember. Needless to say, your ex isn’t going to contact you during this time. It’s been two weeks, and he’s going to need more time to sort things out in his head. He’s probably confused with his emotions. But,
He hasn’t forgotten you.
He hasn’t moved on.
So don’t bring yourself down about it. I’m sure you’re still very there in his mind at the moment but he just doesn’t know how to deal with the emotions he’s feeling at the moment. Honestly, when you try to reach out to him again, the best thing to do is aim to stay as a friend for a bit. I know it’s hard, but trying to go right back into the relationship when he responds to you is only going to push him away.
Hi, No he will not forget you! Actually the truth is the longer that you don’t have contact with him, the more that he thinks about you. He will wonder things like what have you been doing lately, who are you with and has someone taken his place. So you don’t need to worry because you will be in the back of his mind.
Thank you! That’s really reassuring. I also think trying to be a friend first would be best. That’s what I’ve seen on all of these sites. Do you have a success story of your own where this worked for you? I’d love to hear!
Thank you for getting back to me! Crossing my fingers and being patient. By the way, if you have a success story where this worked for you, I’d love to hear it!
