My ex chose another guy after 1 year and 8 months together

I’m an 18-year-old guy, and my ex-girlfriend and I broke up about 6 months ago after being together for 1 year and 8 months. She met another guy online shortly before we broke up, developed feelings for him, and eventually chose him over me. Hello. My ex and I broke up about 6 months ago, and I still miss her a lot. I’ve tried to move on, but I honestly can’t. I still wish things could change and that we could eventually make the relationship work.

We were together for 1 year and 8 months, and before we became a couple we were very close friends. We used to stay up late together, drink beers, talk about everything, and generally do almost everything together.

Our relationship became complicated because she had never completely gotten over her ex. About 3 months after we got together, her ex contacted me and told me to be careful because I was supposedly “dangerous” for her. She then suddenly left me one night and went back toward him. That was probably the first time in my life I cried that hard. I developed insomnia and had a very difficult time dealing with it.

After months of me asking her to reconsider, she eventually came back to me. Even after that, she would sometimes contact her ex and tell me how good his soul was and how much he had God in him, even though he would often ignore her and treat her badly. Eventually, after almost a year, she seemed to completely get over him.

There were also other things that damaged my trust. Once, I asked if I could look through her phone and found contacts that made me suspicious. I also found out that she had drawn something for another guy and sent it to him. When I confronted her, she gave me an explanation that I didn’t completely believe, but I eventually forgave her.

During our relationship, she also struggled badly with suicidal thoughts and would sometimes take her mother’s heart medication. I spent many nights awake trying to make sure she was safe. I even contacted her best friend because I was worried about her, but her friend didn’t respond for the entire day.

At the same time, my own mental and physical health became really bad. I had insomnia, depression, barely ate, felt dizzy and almost fainted at school, and sometimes even felt sick when someone complimented me. I was also trying to earn money because I was hoping we could eventually move in together.

Then, shortly before we broke up, she met another guy online. She said he was just a friend who liked history, was Christian, and had a good soul. However, she had already been ghosting me for several days and staying up late at night, so I became suspicious.

I told her honestly that I wasn’t comfortable with their relationship and asked if she could block him. She became angry and asked why I was acting that way. Eventually, I asked her to choose between me and him, and she chose him.

One day after meeting him, our relationship of 1 year and 8 months was basically over.

What confused me even more was that she suddenly started talking about how she had feelings for her history teacher and admitted that she had imagined her life with other guys while she was still with me. She eventually blocked me.

The other guy also contacted me and asked why I wouldn’t let her be friends with him and accused me of controlling her. I told him he didn’t know everything that had happened between us and to stay out of our relationship, then I blocked him too.

It’s been about 6 months now, and I still love and miss her.

I know I made mistakes too, especially with jealousy and wanting her to block people, and I don’t want to pretend I was perfect. But I genuinely want to know whether reconciliation is realistically possible in a situation like this.

If someone has experience with reconciliation, I would really appreciate honest advice. What should I do from this point? Should I completely leave her alone, try contacting her eventually, or accept that the relationship is over?

I want to understand whether there is a healthy way to try to rebuild things if there is still any possibility.
