Happy new year!

My ex wished me for Christmas but I ignored it out of anger. Should I wish my ex happy new year?

I really want to get back with her if I can.

She is officially dating the guy she broke up with me for now but they have not seen each other since 19th December as they have each gone back home for the Christmas holidays.

Ok, thanks! Well in my opinion I don’t see that it would hurt seeing as though she did reach out to you on Christmas. Don’t get your hopes up about it too much though! You could write “happy new year and also I hope you had a lovely Christmas” so you’re reaponsing to her text in that way. What do you think?

Thanks. Well I texted her and she emailled me back with a length email explaining that she is sorry and the reason why we broke is because she thinks she should not have a crush on someone else.

She wished me all the best for my future which I am finding a bit cold for some reason.

Not sure what I should do now.

Oh yeah I called her after I read the email…spoke to her for 9.30m. I ended the conversation making it short. Didn’t act needy and kept my cool.

Yeah I understand! I also found it cold when my ex said he hopes I find someone that makes me happy. It is cold, it indicates that they’re over us to the point of being able to say that. However it doesn’t mean it’s the end!
It’s good though that you got some clarity on how she feels right now, that can help you move on. I think you should do NC for a while now and put the focus you have on her back on you! Well done on keeping your cool:)

There is always hope, but sometimes there’s more hope if you don’t hope! Other times the hope can be a good motivation to drive you towards becoming the person you want to be that will attract your ex and others.
