Ex contacted me after 7 months angry

Me and my ex broke up 7 months ago. She left me 2 weeks after our break up and moved in with her new bf. We haven’t had contact in 4 months. I’m currently happy in a new relationship, and she’s also currently in a relationship

Last Sunday was my birthday, she was contacting ALL my friends to try and get in touch with me. We finally talked she told me happy birthday and we had a short very friendly conversation. She told me her and her bf was having problems, but I didn’t care cause I’m happy with who I have.

So two days out the blue she sent me this ugly text saying “she cheated on me twice during our relationship, and she knows I cheated on her to (which is 100% false) and she kept going on about things that happen in 2014 between us”. That you could read and see she’s angry and upset about something but it’d been 7 months since our break up idk why she’ll throw this in my face when she knows I’m happy with my life.

Any ideal why an ex will be like this towards you for no reason

Maybe she was drunk?

Or maybe she’s just afraid that she let go of someone good in you. Perhaps she is unhappy in her current relationship, and now she wants you to feel ANYTHING, even hurt, just to get your attention.

If I were in your shoes, I’d act with grace. If I don’t want to contact her back, I wouldn’t. If I must, then I’d just kindly tell her that I’m in a better situation right now and don’t appreciate her negativity…that she might benefit from focusing on her own life and relationship instead. Then just smile and focus on my own life. :slight_smile:

She’s not happy with her boyfriend and wanted to check up on your status to ascertain if there would be another chance for you two to get back together. When she found out you’re happy with your girlfriend, she got angry and said nasty stuff to hurt you. Don’t contact her or reply to anything! Just ignore her!!
