I’ve been trying to play a game of cat and mouse, and I’m stuck on what to say next. At 2 yesterday afternoon, he texted me ‘Merry Christmas’ at around 8 or so, I texted him back Merry Christmas. He replied instantly with ‘hope it was a good one’. A few hours later (3) I replied ‘Yeah I had a great day’ to which he replied (instantly) ‘good, I’m glad’. I didn’t reply to this until this morning, when I said ‘Sorry I couldn’t answer I was with someone.’ Now, the part I am stuck on is his next text, which was NOT instantly, maybe 15-20 minutes later, where he said ‘well I’ll let you be then.’ What do I say to this and what does all this mean? Could he still be interested or did I ruin it?

honestly I personally don’t feel like you should have said that… if he hasn’t moved on that text could encourage him too
I agree. You shouldn’t have said you were with someone. Just that you were busy. Since you lied already lol , you could text and say you’re best friend came over? Just don’t have him think it’s smother guy. That may be enough for you to lose him. That he was replaced so quickly. Just my opinion
