As I mentioned in a previous post I met somebody completely randomly a few weeks ago and we’ll be meeting again for the fourth time this week. It was very unexpected but I’m happy with the boost and confidence that it has given me, and has helped lift me out of the dark place that I found myself in following the shock split with my ex. Its early days of course but I have a good feeling about this new lady.

I always think that people come into your life for a reason. This can be for the short or long term and its not always apparent why these things happen; sometimes these things become clearer with time.

From reading the other posters messages/thoughts it seems that there is quite a large age range on here and as such peoples needs/hopes/desires vary widely depending on where they are at in their life. As for me I’m in my early 40s, never been married and have no children and feel a little out of place as I see all my friends either marry and or start having families. Was hopeful that those things would come to fruition with my ex.

    Amy

The guy sounds pretty disrespectful and immature to me, although as Palmtreess22 has said its maybe better that your seeing his true colours coming out now than in the future.

Great news that you’ve been asked out on a date; that’s got to fill you with lots of positive energy. Go and enjoy yourself and have some fun.

    Hi Catherine8

I’m going to respectfully disagree with Palmtrees22 on this one. I get the impresssion from what you have written that you would find it strange not to wish your ex a Happy Birthday. It may well make you feel worse if you dont get a response from him but sometimes I think you need to do what intrisically feels right. In this case I would suggest that it is the right thing to do, and you should end up feeling like the better person because of it.

Sorry for butting into this thread but I think for me that their is no worst time of day, as that person is forever popping into your thoughts.

To me its that sense of nothingness as though somebody has just turned off a light switch. I find that its a weird sensation to get your head around!
