    Hi,
My girlfriend(22) and I(24) were in a 4 year relationship. We broke up just over 3 weeks ago. We are studying together and therefore see each other every day of the week. She said that she has lost the connection with me and feels like we should take a break, and that she wants us to move on. She said that if we are meant to be together it will happen again in future(although I feel you have control over that)

She has since started talking to my best friend. When I asked her about it she said he was there when she wanted to talk to someone so she did. But it got really serious in the last week. They dont tell me anything, as they are scared as to how I will react if I find out they are talking and seeing each other often.

I have not done no contact, it is difficult since we are studying together and see each other a lot. We have been texting frequently after the breakup, and she invited me over to her place, while also visiting me. The conversation does go on very well and she looks happy when she sees me. But, then once she is not with me she acts cold and distant.

I am really unsure as to what I should do and how I should approach this situation.

I did not have any contact with my friend, since I found out that he is chatting to my ex. He knew I wanted to win her back and he used the opportunity to get in the way.

    Thank you in advance

I will be blunt, so if that will upset you, don’t read my reply.

This situation is toxic. She doesn’t respect you by pursuing your best friend, and your best friend is a bad friend by allowing it, point blank. If those two are meant to be, then the respectful course of action would be to give you a little bit of time to recover before publicizing any part of their relationship. So I would say stop pursuing her. Of course, maybe I’m missing something, but I would just say she’s a negative influence for you right now; she cannot help you grow as your girlfriend should.
